Dallas Penalty (0:16) First Penalty, Dallas High Sticking - Halpern...surprisingly not called by Koharski.  Halpern is on the ice, Sharks 0-1 on the PP.

Sharks had scoring chance, a couple of passes couldn't make it to the stick and Stars avoid that first goal against. Seems like Sharks have the upper hand so far.

A brief brew-ha-ha, looks like Brad Winchester has some fight tonight.

Nice pass in front of Nabakov from Morrow to Ribeiro...couldn't get it into the net.

Halfway through the first, Sharks are out shooting Dallas 4-4.

GOAL - SAN JOSE (Sharks 1 - Stars 0) 18:15 Sharks take advantage of the man advantage, Cheechoo (4) beats Turco as the Sharks clogged the net. Assist goes to Thornton. Halfway through, shots were even...not anymore, San Jose has rattled off the last 8 shots on goal.

GOAL - DALLAS (Stars 1 - Sharks 1) 3:31 Trevor Daley gets on the scoring sheet, his first of the season, as he gets it past Nabakov to tie the game.

GOAL - SAN JOSE (Sharks 2 - Stars 1) 6:02 It didn't take long as Patrick Marleau to un-tie it, putting one past Marty. Dallas again is getting out-shot, tough to get any goals when you are out-shot.

Dallas Penalty (9:24) Third Power Play for the Sharks, this time as Modano is sent to the box for tripping.

Dallas Penalty (11:03) Another penalty, this time for hooking on Morrow as the Sharks get :21 seconds of two man advantage ice time.  Nothing doing on the 2 man advantage, Dallas knocks off the 21 seconds. Stars kill of the penalty, but a no call as Ribeiro goes down in front of the box. Dallas could ill afford going down 3-1, hard work pays off.

One of the linesman is down on the ice, took a stick to the to the face on the faceoff...gives a new meaning to faceoff....sorry, that's bad.

Dallas Penalty (13:43) Another power play for the Sharks, so far no Stars power play? Typical Koharski game, one-sided. Morrow in the box for two minutes. GOAL - SAN JOSE (Sharks 3 - Stars 2) 11:24 Stars are unable to get ahead as Joe Thornton gets his third point of the night.

Sharks Penalty (16:05) AMAZING BUT TRUE, a San Jose Penalty. Mike Grier gets the boot for Interference. Let's see what the Stars can do on the power play. SHARKS GET A SECOND PENALTY?!?!? Yes, it's true as Dallas goes on a 5 on 3 as Criag Rivet gets a delay of game penalty at 17:18. Sharks kill the brief 5-3 and Dallas still on the PP. Looking for Marty to leave the goal....he's gone and Dallas goes on a 6 on 4. Pucks hits the neat and face off out in the neutral zone.  Turco still on the bench. Stars must win this faceoff. Modano wins the draw. WOW, the puck almost goes in the empty neat, hits the post. Stars dodge a bullet. Faceoff in Stars zone, Turco back on the ice. No goal, game over!
